Chief Minister Punjab Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif called for devising a national policy for elimination of terrorism and extremism in the country, saying that nation must be united for this cause to defeat anti-state elements in their nefarious designs.

Talking to reporters after offering fateha for departed soul of ANP Senior Minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour, he said the political leadership should unite and to formulate a joint policy for rooting out terrorism and extremism from the country. PML-N central leader, Chaudhry Nasir Ali Khan also accompanied with him. He expressed grief and condolence with Federal Minister for Railways, Ghulam Ahmad Bilour over assassination of his brother and ANP Senior Minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour, offered fateha for his departed soul.

He said that nation strongly backed stance of ANP and its assassination of Senior Minister Bashir Ahmad and other workers of common objective. While commenting of future perspective of general elections, he stressed for holding elections as per schedule time. He called that government should take pre-emptive steps for protection of live and property of the masses.

He said the political leaders should sit together and to devise a policy in better interest of the country. The opposition leader Chaudhry Nasir Khan while speaking on the occasion said that PML-N had played important role against the terrorism. He asked government and security agencies to fully abide on resolutions unanimously passed by the parliament.

Meanwhile, dignitaries and political leaders of different parities, members of civil society and people of different walk of life, including doctors, academicians, serving and retired judges, and government officials swarm to the house of Federal Minister for Railways Ghulam Bashir Ahmad to condole with him over the death of his brother and ANP Senior Minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour.
